Last week we were so excited to welcome over 1,100 students from 80+ Tri-State area schools to the 2023 Youth Leadership Seminar for a day of leadership training and development led by leaders in our community. The theme for this year’s Seminar was enVision. Student leaders were challenged to define the future they see for themselves – but enVision is more than dreaming about what your future holds; it’s having a clear sense of purpose, defining your goals, and shifting your perspectives. Because leaders are more than what meets the eye. Check out the hashtag #enVisionYLS on all social media platforms to see what students took away from the event.
Motivational speakers were present at the event giving students powerful advice. These speakers included AMF President Anthony Muñoz, Elizabeth Blackburn of Cincinnati Bengals, Dr. Paul Crosby of Lindner Center of HOPE, Rico Grant of Paloozanoire and SoCap Accelerate, Beth Guckenberger of Back2Back Ministries, event emcee Nick Jackson, and musical entertainment K-Drama.
In addition to hearing the speakers, students got the opportunity to join breakout sessions to apply that knowledge and speak with other students to optimize the takeaways. Brainstorming for service projects and networking with other students and organizations was offered to each of the students through Connections Alley. Organizations such as 1N5.org, altafiber, Back2Back Ministries , Centene, Buckeye Health Plan, Chick-fil-A Deerfield Crossing, Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, I Am Speak Love, and Mount St. Joseph University was available to students throughout the day. Students enjoyed lunch provided by Chick-fil-A Voice of America and Chick-fil-A Deerfield Crossing locations and enjoyed a dance break thanks to DJ Toad Productions.
A special THANK YOU to everyone who made YLS possible; AMF partner Centene Corporation, motivational speakers, volunteers, student leaders and teachers for attending the event! You can learn more about the Youth Leadership Seminar at munozfoundation.org/youthleadershipseminar/.
